I love Chinese food, I mean love it, especially in the cooler months. One of my all time favorites is orange chicken. This is an easy and quick recipe, that can be put together quickly. I like to serve this with rice or mei fun noodles. I guarantee your family will be impressed. I hope you will grab your chop sticks and give it a try.
1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, cut in to one inch pieces
1/2 cup corn starch
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons extra virgin coconut oil
3 large oranges juiced
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon diced green onions
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional )
1 orange sliced for garnish
In a gallon ziploc bag, add chicken and cornstarch shake the bag to coat the chicken evenly, set aside.
In a large skillet, on medium heat, add oils and allow to heat up, then add chicken, cook for 3 minutes. Add orange juice, soy sauce, honey and red pepper flakes.
Cook and flip chicken until done and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Keep an eye on your sauce, if it gets thick before chicken has cooked through, add orange juice to thin it, and stir as needed.
Garnish with green onions and orange slices, enjoy!
Happy Cooking 😊
