2 packages of instant yeast
1/3 cup of warm water
1/4 cup of sugar
1/3 cup of vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups of heavy cream
1 1/2 tsp. of salt
1/2 a tip. of cinnamon
1/2 cup of mashed potato or sweet potato
8 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
Vegetable oil for frying

Directions:
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Mix together shortening and cream.
After 5 minutes, pour the yeast mixture in a large bowl and add the cream and shortening mixture. Add the eggs, mashed potatoes (your choice), sugar, salt, cinnamon, and 1 1/2 cups of flour.
Using a wooden spoon, combine the ingredients until flour is incorporated. Add the remaining flour slowly and stir the mixture until well combined.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and kneed 3-4 minutes until dough pulls together and becomes smooth.
Transfer to a well oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for one hour or until doubled in size. On a well floured surface, roll out dough to 1 1/2 inch thick.
Using a 3 inch circle cutter, cut donuts and poke a hole in the center of each with your fingers. Place onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Cover with plastic and place in a warm area until donuts double in size.
Heat oil to 350°. then carefully remove donuts and slide into heated oil, 2-3 at a time. Fry each for about 3 minutes on each side or until a light golden color. Drain onto paper towels.
