Warm Slaw

We all have eaten cold slaw but this is a little twist. Warm cooked in vinegar and bacon. I love cabbage and this can be served as dinner or as a side! Yum šŸ˜‹

Ingredients:

4 thick slices of bacon, diced

1/2 cup diced onion

1/4 cup cider vinegar

1 lb. green cabbage, shredded

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp.

Place cooked bacon on a paper towel lined plate.

Cook the onion in the bacon fat left in the skillet over medium heat until softened.

Carefully pour in the vinegar and water.
Use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits in the bottom of the skillet and bring the dressing to a boil.

Add the cabbage, bacon, and sprinkle with salt. Cook stirring frequently on medium heat for about 3-5 minutes.

Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.

Happy cooking 😊
