Strawberries are coming in, soon the festivals and parades will be here! I love fresh picked strawberries you can make so many recipes, sweet to savory. This is the easiest most wonderful simple sauce recipe. Great on pancakes, cake, ice cream, I even mix it in softened butter and put it on biscuits and toast. I hope you will give it a try, enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 pound ripe strawberries, washed and hulled
1/2 cup sugar (you can substitute the sugar with 1/2 cup of honey)
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Directions:
In a medium saucepan combine strawberries and sugar. Smash strawberries and turn heat to medium. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes uncovered. Remove from heat, add vanilla and stir. Can be served warm or room temperature. Can be stored in your favorite jar or bottle. Happy Baking!
