
This is a quick and easy grilling dessert. What I love about this is you can grill your main meal put the apples on the grill, eat, and when your finished, boom a yummy hot grilled Brown Betty! I like to serve with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Easy and takes no time away from friends and family gathered. I also do this with peaches when in season. I hope you will give it a try.
INGREDIENTS:
10 cups thinly sliced peeled apples
1 cup old-fashioned oats
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
3 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/3 cup cold butter
DIRECTIONS:
Place the apple slices on a double thickness of heavy-duty foil.
In a small, bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
Cut in butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle over the apples.
Fold foil around apple mixture and seal tightly.
Grill, covered, over medium heat for 20-25 minutes or until apples are tender.
Serve warm with ice cream.
