Fried Red Hot Apples

I love to go apple picking, being at the orchard is so calming and peaceful. I like to take them home and make fried cinnamon red hot apples, my favorite! They go with everything, pork loin, fried chicken, grilled chicken and even warm over ice cream. If I have extra time I will can, red hot cinnamon applesauce, my sons favorite. I hope you will give this recipe a try. 

Ingredients:

6 Apples cored, peeled, & sliced (Johnathan, Johnny gold, or your favorite apple)

1/2 stick of butter

1/2 cup of sugar

2 tablespoons of brown sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon 

8 ounces Red Hots Cinnamon Candies

Directions:

In a large skillet or cast iron skillet melt butter over medium low heat.  

Add apples stir and coat with butter. 

Next add cinnamon and stir together, then add sugar and brown sugar stir and cook for about 10 minutes on low heat. 

Add cinnamon red hots mix together well, continue to cook on medium low heat stirring often, for about 5-10 minutes. 

Stir well and turn heat to low let simmer for about 10 minutes let everything marry, then serve.
