Blackberry Bars are a favorite for our family. Anything blackberry we are fans of, these bars are great for breakfast, snacks, picnics, and summer BBQ’s. You can add your favorite nuts easily and make it your own. I hope you enjoy, happy baking!😊
Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar lightly packed
1/4 cup of sugar
1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 and 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups of fresh blackberries ( you can use frozen)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Spray your 9 x 9 pan. Mix flour and baking soda together and set aside. Clean your blackberries put in a bowl sprinkle with sugar and set aside.
Mix together the butter and sugar until light and creamy. Mix in the flour and baking soda. Stir in the oats.
Press a little over half of the mixture into the bottom of the pan. Pour blackberry and sugar on top of the oatmeal mixture.
Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture on top of blackberries.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is lightly golden. Remove and allow to cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour before cutting into the bars. Enjoy!
