Many people from around the world are enjoying a healthy lifestyle from eating massive amounts of coconut, so why should we not all be using it?
What are the advantages of coconut oil? The Lauric acid in coconut oil can kill bacteria, viruses and fungi, helping you to fight infections. It can kill hunger, making you eat less without trying. It can improve blood cholesterol levels and lower your risk of heart disease. It can be used to protect your hair against damage, moisture skin, and function as a sunscreen.
Here are some other uses for coconut oil I found.
In cooking, it is a great oil with a high smoke point and can be a dairy free replacement for butter.
Add to foods or drinks daily for energy.
Use on the skin as a basic lotion.
Eye-makeup remover.
Get rid of frizz in your hair.
Rub on your lips as a natural chap stick.
When applied topically, it can help skin heal faster after an injury or infection.
Is a healthy brain boosting snack.
Can help improve insulin levels.
If you have a cold, stir a tablespoon into some hot tea.
Can help speed up healing of sunburn after the heat is gone.
Is an immediate source of energy when eaten that isn’t stored as fat.
Can be rubbed into the scalp daily to help hair growth.
Mixed with salt, it can remove dry skin on feet.
It has been shown to increase absorption of calcium and magnesium.
Used by itself or with baking soda as a naturally whitening toothpaste.
I enjoy using coconut oil daily, and I have not tried all the suggestions for it’s use yet. My favorite brand of oil is by Carrington Farms and can be found on Amazon. I hope you will give it a try.
