In a Rut

I came across this stat the other day. Sitting for 11 or more hours a day is associated with a 40% increased chance of death over the next 3 years when compared with sitting less than 4 hours a day.

It made me stop for a moment to think about how many hours I was staring at a flicking screen of some sort. That could be a tv, phone, iPad, laptop, etc. It all adds up.

Now is the time to invest in yourself and a little tlc. Ladies, we tend to take care of everyone else and we are somewhere on the bottom of our own check off list. We need to find those quality hours just for ourselves.

Take up a challenge.

How about 150 minutes of cardio each week? Start off with a walk early in the morning. Then shoot for one at lunch and then in the afternoon. You will actually start to drop some pounds and start to feel better and your energy will return.

If you need a walking plan, here is a link to one on our website.

If you need some inspiration check this out. Ida Keeling broke the 100-meter dash record in the women’s 80-years and older division just the other day. She is 100 years young.

It just goes to show, you are never to old to move.
